Matt Ward has left Games Workshop’s design team

Matt Ward, easily Games Workshop’s most contentious designer — for better or worse — has departed the company.

The news comes from his recently-updated CV on LinkedIn, where he claims his term at Games Workshop was over in May this year — ending an 11 year run with the wargaming giant.

This would roughly line up with the timeframe around which Games Workshop started crediting their Codex writing to “The Games Workshop Design Team” and not to individual designers, although the company has never publicly acknowledged the change or stated the reasons for doing so.

Best of luck to Matt Ward in whatever he chooses to do next.
