Exploding Kittens card game blasts through Kickstarter goal

The creator of The Oatmeal and a pair of game designers have teamed up to create a new card game called Exploding Kittens, described as a “high-powered strategic kitty-powered version of Russian Roulette”.

“Players take turns drawing cards until someone draws an exploding kitten and loses the game,” reads the description. “The deck is made up of cards that let you avoid exploding by peeking at cards before you draw, forcing your opponent to draw multiple cards, or shuffling the deck.”

“The game gets more and more intense with each card you draw because fewer cards left in the deck means a greater chance of drawing the kitten and exploding in a fiery ball of feline hyperbole.”

Although Exploding Kitten only asked for $10,000, the power of The Internet has given the creators a ridiculous $1,512,675 at the time of writing, in less than 24 hours. If you’d like to get on board with this insanely funded project, check it out here.
