Hi!
I really love playing co-operative board games because everyone I know sulks when they lose due to my inevitable triumph. I’m looking to invest in a new one soon, and I’m thinking Fury of Dracula, because I’ve heard good things.
But before I make up my mind, does anyone have any recommendations? (There’s a huuuuuuuuge list on BoardGameGeek but ugh, gosh, who wants to click through 249 pages). I like: Arkham Horror, Shadows Over Camelot, Pandemic.
Cheers!
Brenna! Check out Betrayal at House on the Hill for some excellent Lovecraftian-esque co-op fun. Tabletop did a couple of playthrough videos with Ashly Burch starting here.
Zombicide is also pretty rad, my friends and I play it a lot. Huge piles of zombies, with a tile-based scenario system that is quite extensible.
Arkham Horror!
Wait, you already mentioned that.
Arkham Horror?
Hmmm.
I know: Arkham Horror!
Actually, in all seriousness, if you’re into Arkham Horror, then Mansions of Madness is pretty great too if you can organise around the massive set-up time. Mice and Mystics is cool for introducing new players into co-op games, but the difficulty can be hit-and-miss, and the story elements can fall flat with the wrong group.
And Battlestar Galactica if you have someone in your life that you need to defriend in the most dramatic way possible.
(Edit: I really like Arkham Horror.)
